    Description

    Cutting Corners
, originally published by Caterpillar Tractor Co., Peoria, Illinois, 1930, 6 x 9 golds out to 18 x 18 inches.
This rare ORIGINAL brochure for Caterpillar combines is in exceptionally good condition for its age. There is very little scuffing, with a slight amount of soiling and foxing. The inside pages are clean and in excellent shape. The creases are getting tired, but still intact.
This is one of the most unusual and rare pieces of Caterpillar literature I have ever come across in nearly a quarter century of selling at antique tractor and engine shows, including the Historical Construction Equipment Association event near Bowling Green, Ohio, and a number of shows featuring the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club. This is for Caterpillar combine models Thirty-Four (12- to 15- foot header), Thirty-Six (16.5- to 20- foot header)
    , and Thirty-Eight (10- to 12- foot header)
    .
Just to be clear, let me reiterate that this is an advertising brochure for Caterpillar combine. It is NOT an operator’s manual, or a service manual, or a parts list. This is just an advertisement, chock full of great pics and illustrations that will warm the heart of any collector of Caterpillar, or construction machinery. It is dated on the back cover, bottom corner: 20M 2-30 which I'm pretty sure means JFebruary 1930. Some Cat collector, please correct me if I'm wrong.
The form number on the back left bottom corner is S.L. 1661-R.
