DESCRIPTION:
This set of 4 tankard mugs was skillfully decorated by a talented artist. The design includes a selection of period ladies and the cutest handles. The handles feature the Greek Dolphin Dragon representing one of the Dolphins that pulled Poseidon in Greek mythology. The mugs have the gold trim on the rim and gold paint highlighting the handles. The heavily embossed base of the mug has 3 gold trim lines. The overall quality of the design is quite professional.
Two of the mugs are identical with the Lady in the red sash with the egg basket on both sides. One mug has the Lady in blue on both sides. The 4th mug has a slightly yellowed wash with the Lady with the egg basket and a white sash and on the other side is a different Lady with pink flowing sash. The set looks great viewed as left or right handled mugs.
CONDITION:
While this set of 4 is classified as used, its condition is excellent. We can find no defects and only small age appropriate wear to the paint. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. Overall, the gold trim is as applied. See the photos.
DIMENSIONS:
The mugs have a top diameter of 2 1/8", bottom diameter of 4 1/2" and a height of 5 1/8". The mugs vary in weight from 15.2 ounces to 17.6 ounces.
