    Description
    I just purchased this antique Owens Pottery vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The vase bears the "OWENSART" "UTOPIAN" stamped mark of the line they first introduced in 1896. The vase has a classically inspired form with graceful curvilinear lines. The "Standard" ground with gloss finish features a trio of pansy blossoms on one face. The vase has a nice presence measuring 13" high 7" wide at the waist and just under 2" at the top rim (O.D.). The piece is in very good condition with no damage (some typical faint, fine clear glaze crazing). This c. 1900 pansy vase would make a nice addition to your collection of Owens Utopian / American art pottery.
